Offer Description

Organic Unit: Scientific Area of Systems, Urbanism, Transportation and Environment
Scholarship Theme: Performance tests of bituminous mixtures

Objectives
Learn how to use performance tests on bituminous mixtures and how to interpret the results, particularly with regard to
determining fatigue using the 4pb process (EN 12697-24, 2018), determining stiffness using the 4pb process (EN 12697-
26, 2018 & A1, 2022), and determining the behavior of permanent deformation in Wheel Tracking (EN 12697-22, 2020 &
A1, 2023), in order to be able to integrate the knowledge in the development of more complex studies to be carried out
within the scope of work leading to obtaining a degree of specialization in bituminous mixtures.
 

Work Plan
0-2 months application of EN 12697-24, 2018; 2-4 months application of EN 12697-26, 2018 & A1, 2022; 4-6 months
application of EN 12697-22, 2020 & A1, 2023

Duration: 6 months
Maximum Duration Including Renewals: 6 months

Contest Evaluation Method(s)
Curricular evaluation weighted to 75% on a scale of 20 points.
Individual interview weighted to 25% on a scale of 20 points.
The minimum final grade needed for admission is 15 points.
