Applications are open for 1 Research Studentship for Master Students, within the framework of project/ 1801P.01565.1.01 AQUALEARN, in the institution IST-ID, reference no. 2023.18249.ICDT, financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC
Workplan: Development of methodologies and machine learning algorithms for the detection of anomalous behaviors in flow rate measurements in water distribution networks.
Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in February, 2026 and may be renewed.

Benefits
Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/fct-atualizou-o-valor-das-bolsas-para-2025/ ), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1040,98, being the payment method an option of the Fellow by Wire Transfer/Check.

Admission Requirements:To be enrolled in the master degree of civil engineering in the Area of Specialization in Hydraulics and Water Resources.
Selection process
Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: (i) average grade of the Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering in the area of specialization in Hydraulics and Water Resources (60%); (ii) experience in participating in various projects, activities and initiatives in an academic environment at DECivil, IST (20%); (iii) letter of motivation (20%). If necessary, an individual interview may be conducted which will calculate the arithmetic average with the previous curricular component.

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
