Organic Unit: Scientific Area of Biological Sciences
Scholarship Theme: Transcriptional regulatory networks in yeasts: from experimental definition to computational
integration within the YEASTRACT+ database
Duration: 9 months

Objectives
From the experimental standpoint of the work plan, research will focus on the characterization of new transcriptional
regulatory networks in pathogenic yeasts, with impact on their pathogenesis, in order to strengthen knowledge
regarding less well-studied yeast species.
From the bioinformatics standpoint, the work will focus on the expansion of the YEASTRACT+ portal. It will include
active participation in the collection and curation of published data on gene expression regulation in yeasts, to update
the YEASTRACT+ datasets for the 11 yeast species currently included, and to extend it to other yeasts of clinical
relevance.
Work Plan

Selection process

Conditions for the Contest Evaluation
Curricular evaluation taking into account:1) academic merit, 2) research experience, and 3) motivation for the project, with respective weightings of 50%, 25%,and 25% for each parameter.
