Offer Description
A call for applications is open for a Research Grant (BI) within the scope of the project “POCTEP - 0137_NSL_6_E :NSL (New Long-Lived Societies)”, funded by the “Programa de Cooperación Interreg VI-A España – Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027”, under the following conditions:

2. Admission Requirements:
Individuals with a Master's degree in the following areas may apply for this grant:
Health Sciences
Candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program or a non-degree-granting course integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution.
Undergraduate academic training in the Health field is required.
The following will be factors of preference in the evaluation of candidates: Having experience in research projects in the health field; Solid knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodologies in the process of database management and statistical data analysis;
Publications in peer-reviewed international journals and presentations at conferences in the scientific area of this call for applications;
Proficiency in English (written and oral).
3. Work Plan:
The fellow will be involved in the following tasks:
(1) Characterization of study participants;
(2) Application of Data Collection Instrument and statistical data processing;
(3) Development and management of the database and respective statistical analysis; and
(4) Preparation of scientific articles.
4. Objectives:
To coordinate with local authorities the dissemination of data collection in the community.
To apply the data collection instrument.
To build the database.
To analyze the collected data.
To prepare scientific articles.
5. Applicable legislation and regulations:
Statute of the Scientific Research Grant Holder, approved by Law No. 40/2004, of August 18, in its current wording; FCT, I.P. Research Grant Regulations, in force (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/docs/RegulamentoBolsasFCT2019.pdf );
Regulation No. 522/2020, published in the Official Gazette, 2nd series, No. 113, of June 12 – Research Grant Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.
6. Workplace and scientific supervision:
The work will be carried out at the Higher School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, under the scientific supervision of Josiana Adeliade Vaz.
7. Grant Duration:
The grant will have an initial duration of 3 months, with a planned start date of February 16, 2026 (with the possibility of renewal for up to a maximum of 10 months, including the initial period).
8. Monthly Maintenance Allowance Amount:
The grant amount corresponds to 1,309.64, according to the table of grant values awarded by FCT, I.P. in the country.
Grant recipients will benefit from personal accident insurance and, if they are not covered by any social protection scheme, they may ensure the exercise of their right to social security by joining a voluntary social security scheme, under the terms provided for in the Code of Contribution Regimes of the Social Security System. The grant amount will be paid monthly by bank transfer.
9. Selection Methods and their respective evaluation:
The selection methods to be used will be as follows:
The final classification will be assigned on a scale of 0 to 20 points and will correspond to the result of the sum of the curriculum evaluation criteria (AC), described above, and the interview (E). The final classification will be rounded to one decimal place. The final classification will be obtained by the following formula: 0.7 x AC + 0.3 x E, on a scale of 0 to 20 points.

11. Method of publication/notification of results:
The communications and final results of the evaluation will be published through the IPB application submission portal or, if necessary, by means of notification via email.
12. Application Deadline:
The competition is open from January 26, 2026 to February 6, 2026.
13. Application Submission Method:
Applications can be submitted through the IPB application submission portal (http://concursos.ipb.pt ), including the following documents:
a) Curriculum Vitae;
b) Academic Qualifications Certificate;
c) Letter of Motivation
Documents proving the holding of academic degrees or diplomas, or enrollment in an academic degree or diploma, may be waived during the application phase, being replaced by a declaration of honor from the candidate, with verification of this condition being mandatory during the grant contracting phase.
Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries need to be recognized by a Portuguese Institution in accordance with Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25. The presentation of the recognition is mandatory for the signing of the contract.
14. Deadlines and procedures for complaints and appeals:
If the decision to be taken is unfavorable to the granting of the requested grant, candidates have a period of 10 working days, after the date of publication of the evaluation results, to express themselves, if they wish, in a prior hearing, under the terms provided for in the Administrative Procedure Code.
An appeal against the final decision may be made to the President of IPB within 15 working days after the respective notification.
