The Rector of Medical University of Gdańsk 

announces an open competition for the position of

 

Scholarship Holder at the Translational Oncology Department  

 

The successful candidate will participate in a research project funded by the National Science Centr (NCN) as part of the SONATA 20 competition, project no. 2024/55/D/NZ5/03003, entitled „A gene with many faces  - a model of severe congenital neutropenia in patient- derived iPS cells to elucidate the role of CLPB mutations in granulopoiesis and clonal evolution”, led by dr. Joanne Madzio

 

THE TASKS OF A PERSON EMPLOYED AT THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE:

  • cultivation of iPSC cells and their differentiation into hematopoietic cells, bone marrow cells and granulocytes,
  • assessment of differentiation using CFU test and flow cytometry,
  • performing functional test of neutrophils, including phagocytosis, NET formation, ROS production and migration,
  • preparing RNA samples for transcriptomics,

CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO:

  • Master’s degree in biology or biotechnology, medical nalytics or eqiuvalent,
  • experience in cel culture,

  • basic knowledge of molecular biology.

     

WE OFFER:

  • a scholarship agreement for a period of 36 months,
  • stable employment at one of the best medical universities in Poland,
  • work at a medical University, which is the only one in Poland with the status of a research University.
