Cosmetic formulation expert postdoctoral

Institute for Environmental Solutions (IES) (LV – Vides Risinājumu Institūts, VRI) is an international research and innovation organization bringing together experts from diverse fields to address challenges associated with environmental sustainability, innovative product development, and resource management. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the development of innovative formulations for cosmetic and personal care products, ensuring product performance, safety, and consumer appeal 

Design and carry out laboratory experiments, pilot-scale trials as well as scale-up to test and validate formulations 

Work closely with experts in analytical chemistry, dermatology, quality assurance, and process engineering to bring new products from idea to market 

Assess and monitor product stability, safety, and efficacy in line with international cosmetic regulations and standards 

Conduct product compliance analysis, ensuring that formulations meet EU and international cosmetic legislation, safety standards, and labeling requirements 

Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports, ensuring reproducibility and regulatory compliance 

Identify challenges in formulation processes and propose creative, science-based solutions 

REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS

PhD obtained no earlier than 5 years before applying in one of the following fields: Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines 

Practical experience in cosmetic product development (e.g., skin care, hair care, or personal care formulations) 

Strong sense of accountability and ability to work both independently and in a team 

Excellent communication skills 

Very good command of English (spoken and written) 

Driving license, category B
