Offer Description

The successful candidate will join Prof. Elmar Schiebel’s research group, renowned for its work on gamma-tubulin complexes, centrioles and centrosome function. This PhD project will investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying centriole biogenesis, with a focus on understanding how centrioles duplicate and assemble microtubules during formation. The research will combine advanced microscopy techniques, biochemistry, and genetic tools to unravel the complexities of centriole assembly and function and how this can lead to disease.
Interested candidates should send their application, including a CV, cover letter, and contact information for two references, to Prof. Elmar Schiebel at schiebel.elmar@zmbh.uni-heidelberg.de . The PhD student will be a member of the Heidelberg Biosciences International Graduate School (HBIGS) (http://www.hbigs.uni-heidelberg.de/ ). This PhD position is initially funded for 3 years.
