 THE POSITION  

Faculty members of Electrical Engineering is a fulltime research focused position at College of Engineering and Computer Science and will have the opportunity to collaborate with Environmental Intelligence Research Cluster on: 

• Advanced engineering and intelligent systems spans diverse areas 

• High-power wireless charging for electric vehicles 

• AI-enabled digital twin energy systems 

• Intelligent power electronics and adaptive control 

• Autonomous robotic and vehicle systems 

• Integrated circuit (IC) design and semiconductors, and the Internet of Things (IoT). 

 ABOUT COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE 

The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at VinUniversity provides a rigorous academic foundation and extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary, application-oriented research and learning.  

In collaboration with seven research centers, CECS combines an international-standard curriculum with state-of-the-art facilities and strategic industry partnerships, particularly within the Vingroup ecosystem, to cultivate an academic environment that catalyzes technological and scientific breakthroughs. 

ENVIRONMENTAL INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH CLUSTER 

Environmental Intelligence research cluster is home to two research centers: Center for Material Intelligence and Technology and Center for Environmental Intelligence. 

CMIT fosters breakthrough innovation in materials for electronics, energy, biomedicine, and sustainability, while nurturing young scientists and future leaders who create knowledge and value for a sustainable future.  

CEI harnesses advanced technology and interdisciplinary research to tackle urgent environmental challenges. Through the integration of technology, social sciences, digital materials, and sustainable energy, we strive to drive transformative solutions for a sustainable future. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

The faculty members will be responsible for 03 primary responsibilities:  

• Lead high-impact research with strong translational outcomes and publications in top-tier journals and secure competitive external funding. 

• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration within and beyond the College through active engagement in academic events. 

• Contribute to innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer, including commercialization efforts. 

 Teaching 

• Develop, plan, and deliver high-quality, accredited curricula for undergraduate and/or graduate programs. 

• Prepare course materials, deliver lectures and tutorials, assess student performance, provide feedback, and supervise academic projects. 

• Supervise research students and projects, and mentor junior faculty to support their professional 

 Service 

• Contribute to university service through committee work, faculty recruitment, accreditation, and program development. 

• Support initiatives aligned with VinUni’s Vision 2030 and carry out duties assigned by the Leaders. 

 KEY SELECTION CRITERIA 

General Requirements (All Faculty Levels)  

• Degree: PhD (or equivalent terminal/professional degree) from a prestigious university in one or more of the following primary areas: Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems 

• Teaching: Demonstrated teaching ability and commitment to student-centered, active and authentic learning. 

• Research: Evidence of scholarly achievement or strong potential through publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals; engagement in international conferences or research collaborations; and commitment to developing an independent, externally funded research program. 

• Service/Industry Engagement: Experience in multinational, multicultural, or start-up environments is highly valued. 

Specific Requirements by Rank  

• Assistant Professor
  Postdoctoral or equivalent experience is preferable. Demonstrated potential for high-quality, independent research, and effective teaching. International research engagement is an advantage. 

• Associate Professor
  Extensive teaching experience with recognized excellence; sustained record of publications and leadership in the discipline; success in securing research funding as Principal Investigator for at least five years; and active participation in professional societies. 

• Professor
  Internationally recognized academic and research leadership; substantial, sustained record of high-impact, funded research for ten years or more; keynote presentations, awards, or honors for research excellence; and distinguished teaching and mentorship experience.
