Teaching Professor (all ranks), Professor of Practice, or Instructor in Computer Science and Engineering
The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) seeks a dynamic faculty member with experience teaching Engineering curriculum for a full-time teaching position (all ranks considered) beginning in August 2025. Appointments will be made at the rank of Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, Assistant Teaching Professor, Professor of Practice, or Instructor, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments.
This faculty member will be responsible for co-lecturing several international courses (usually five to seven), each equivalent to one credit hour, as well as teaching one to two ASU Engineering courses per semester. Co-lecturing involves collaboratively teaching courses offered by ASU’s international partner institutions, in collaboration with one or more faculty members from those institutions. While most co-lecturing will be conducted virtually, the role requires international travel for short-term, in-person teaching assignments (usually lasting 3 to 14 days) two to six times per academic year.
If the co-lecturing teaching load permits, the faculty member may also engage in guest lectures, master classes, workshops, and other academic activities for international students as a visiting faculty member, either virtually or in person.
All teaching faculty positions are non-tenure track appointments with a fixed-term academic year contract. The faculty member will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, developing curriculum, and fostering student success in a global academic environment.
Teaching faculty should have the ability to teach in multiple areas across the computer science and industrial engineering curriculum, but specifically 100-300 level courses focused on engineering, programming, data structures, information systems, and digital transformation. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching undergraduate classes.
Teaching faculty also contribute to the service mission of programs of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering through student outreach activities, service on committees, and industry engagement activities. Faculty are also expected to remain engaged through professional development and external services.
