Student Ambassador - Theatre and Film

Summary

To provide student leaders that are dedicated to representing the Department of Theatre and Film and serving as role models to prospective and incoming students. Ambassadors will serve as liaisons between the department and prospective students, their families, donors, and other potential interested parties. They will help answer questions about student life, department involvement, lead campus tours and perform other duties as assigned to ensure the interests of the department are represented and provide an engaging and informative experience.

Essential Functions

  • Engage with prospective students in activities such as Preview Days, President's Day, Arts Discovery Day, and other department or university events as needed.
  • Engage with incoming students in activities such as Get with The Program and the Department Welcome Meeting.
  • Perform duties as assigned during the semester to promote the Department of Theatre and Film. Duties may include but are not limited to:
    • Staffing registration/information tables
    • Greeting students
    • Helping with ArtsX activities
    • Leading campus tours
  • Promote Department of Theatre and Film programs during on-campus recruitment events such as Campus Fest, Career Expo, and Major Match-up, as assigned.
  • Serve as a role model for the Department of Theatre and Film by being involved in department productions, films, and other activities dedicated to academic excellence.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Full-time student with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0
  • Theatre/Film Major
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the department
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Leadership ability
  • Enthusiasm
