Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Assistant – Urban Grower Training Program (Temporary) for the Department of Family and Community Health Sciences to assist with the Urban Grower Training Program.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Provides support to program administrators in monitoring annual budget, tracking data, and completing monthly reports (as well as end-of-year report).
  • Creates basic informational materials.
  • Provides supporting research for reports and proposals, and recording critical program data and statistics.
  • Coordinates purchasing and procurement of program supplies and materials.
  • Organizes and maintains a program database to include information on program participants, agricultural specialists and other technical consultants to the program, and other important resources central to planning/delivery of the workshops.
  • Schedules and supervises logistics for meetings and special events.
  • Monitors/Manages CANVAS site, urban agriculture web portal, and program calendar ensuring all program updates and materials are posted and updated on schedule.
FLSA Nonexempt
Salary Details $22 - $27/hourly

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Up to two years of relevant experience in an administrative function.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Teams, Office Suite (particularly Excel), CANVAS, and WordPress.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for Cooperative Extension is preferred.
