Postdoctoral Research Associate in Linguistics

The Program in Linguistics at Princeton University invites applications for one or more Postdoctoral Research Associate (or more senior) research position(s) in linguistics.
The ideal candidate(s) will have a strong background in theoretical morphology and/or syntax. Research areas of particular interest include (i) the featural/structural representation of tense, aspect, modality, and related categories, (ii) syncretism, and (iii) non-concatenative morphology (broadly construed). Scholars with other research interests in morphology and/or syntax are highly encouraged to apply as well. Applicants should discuss in their submitted research statement the projects (or types of projects) that they would hope to undertake at Princeton. The position(s) will be supervised by Prof. Bronwyn Bjorkman and/or Prof. Laura Kalin.
The successful candidate(s) may be invited to teach one course for Linguistics per semester, pending sufficient enrollments and with the approval of the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, and may engage in a small amount of undergraduate independent work advising. When teaching or advising, the successful candidate(s) will carry the secondary rank of Lecturer. In addition, they will be expected to participate in the intellectual life of the Program in Linguistics.
A PhD in Linguistics or relevant discipline is required. The Term of appointment is based on rank. Positions at the postdoctoral rank are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding; those hired at more senior ranks may have multi-year appointments. The starting date is expected to be September 1, 2026.

Expected Salary Range: Salary begins at $65K and is commensurate with experience. When carrying the secondary rank of Lecturer, salary will be augmented.
The University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, work experience, education/training, key skills, market, collective bargaining agreements as applicable, and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The posted salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
