Job Description:
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to assist with Epilepsy Research.

Duties include:

  • Conducting a range of in vivo and in vitro experiments.

  • Immunoprecipitation.

  • Viral vectors studies, including vector design and cloning.

  • RNA sequencing.

  • Proteomics/transcriptomics and bioinformatics.

  • PLA.

  • Immunohistochemistry on brain sections.

  • Surgery to implant electrodes and EEG acquisition and analysis.


Required Minimum Qualifications:

PhD
 


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in neuronscience (neurodegeneration).

  • Proven track record and publications. 

  • Degree related to the medical or Veterinary field



Department/Program & College Description:

Our research goal is to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease modification in experimental models of epilepsy and organophosphate-induced long-term Neurotoxicity. Our ongoing research demonstrated that targeting seizure-induced neuroinflammation prevents long-term neurodegeneration and modifies the development of epilepsy/disease progression
