Position Summary

University of New Mexico – College of Education and Human Sciences
Lecturer III, Exercise Science Program

The University of New Mexico (UNM), located in Albuquerque, is the state’s flagship public research university. The Exercise Science program, housed within the Department of Health, Exercise & Sports Sciences in the College of Education and Human Sciences, invites applications for a Lecturer III position in Exercise Science beginning August 2026.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach a 4/4 course load per academic year. These courses, offered in the scheduled rotation within the Exercise Science program, include but are not limited to: Fundamentals in Exercise Physiology; Introduction to Exercise Science; Sports Physiology; T. Strength Training Concepts and Applications; Advanced Exercise Physiology; Metabolic Considerations for Exercise Science. It is also expected that they will provide service to the program, department, college, university, and community.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 
1.  Doctorate in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or a closely related field by the appointment start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.  Experience teaching undergraduate courses in Exercise Science or a related field.
2.  Experience teaching graduate courses in Exercise Science or a related field.
3.  A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of
     the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
