Position Summary:


Florida Atlantic University is seeking Graduate Student Assistants for Alumni Networks and Relations – Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities includes:

Alumni Networks: 


  • Support the operations and initiatives for active alumni networks and future alumni networks (including geography-based, affinity-based, and professional affiliations). 


  • Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of regional/out-of-state volunteers for network leadership positions. 


  • Create engaging social media content to promote and spotlight alumni networks on their dedicated platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. 


  • Enhance the continued growth of athletics engagement through the Varsity Owls Alumni Network and athletics-related events. 


  • Research target alumni populations and work with staff to maximize development opportunities in those areas. 


  • Support the operations of the Engagement Committee within the Alumni Association Board of Directors. 
     


 Alumni Relations: 


  • Identify community partners for sponsorship opportunities to assist with offsetting costs and building community relationships to support Florida Atlantic Alumni programs. 


  • Maintain dashboards to track and highlight the development of sponsorships and scholarships. 


  • Coordinate the organization and tracking of sponsorship commitments to ensure fulfilments are met in a timely manner. 


  • Develop outreach initiatives to solicit and follow up with prospective partners. 


  • Support the operations of the Fundraising and Scholarship Committees within the Alumni Association Board of Directors. 


 


Additional Responsibilities:


  •  Develop marketing content to foster and spotlight Florida Atlantic Alumni engagement in areas of focus. 


  • Draft invitations/communications and other promotional materials in support of Florida Atlantic Alumni events and opportunities. 


  • Maintain Florida Atlantic Alumni resources, webpages, and other areas to ensure all information is up to date and effectively communicated to constituents. 


  • Support the planning and execution of , alumni events and activities in coordination with staff and volunteers.  


  • Assist with the coordination of travel to location-based Florida Atlantic Alumni events to engage with alumni and build out-of-area relationships.  


  • Ensure data integrity through tracking and reporting of Florida Atlantic Alumni initiatives in coordination with advancement services. 


  • Use data-informed strategies to drive decision-making and to allocate resources for the greatest possible impact. 


  • Maintain volunteer and member data to ensure that information is up to date. 


  • Assist in tracking budgets and finances, such as expenses related to Florida Atlantic Alumni initiatives and purchases.
     

  • Administer platforms such as Active Campaign, RENXT/Classic, Blackbaud, Google Groups and Hivebrite portal for network members. 


  • Utilize platforms like Canva to generate creative content. 


  • Collaborate with and support a variety of internal and external partners. 

  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

FAU degree-seeking graduate student with a minimum of five credit hours (or nine if international) and a minimum 3.0 GPA. This part‑time student role does not qualify for tuition waiver benefits.
Must be available to work 20 hours per regular work week through the remainder of the 2026 calendar year.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills, including effective public speaking abilities.
Passion for relationship building and creating lasting community impact.
Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and projects with both internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience in advancement/development and/or alumni relations.
Experience creating graphics using Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or a similar program is a plus.

Salary:

$20.00 an hour.

Work Days and Hours:

Monday - Friday, part-time hours between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Evening and weekend hours may be required for special events.
