Cornell Human Ecology explores the complexity of human life. We bring together a range of perspectives to understand the full context of the human experience and improve lives at every scale, from cells to society. Our research and academic programs focus on the interaction of humans with their biological, economic, social, and physical environments. Using Cornell's far-reaching extension network and the college's translational research methods, we deliver our findings directly to communities and families, ensuring that our work reaches those who need it most.
As a program manager within the RCCP, responsibilities include coordinating all CARE implementation and sustainment activities in the USA; supervision and coordination of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCI-S) training and technical assistance throughout NYS, the USA, and internationally; providing implementation support and training for agencies using the CARE model; delivery of training and agency-specific workshops for Therapeutic Crisis Intervention agencies; technical assistance in implementing these programs in residential child care organizations, schools, foster and adoptive care providers, and child welfare services within New York State, nationally and internationally; and developing training curricula and evaluation materials to support these programs.
This position requires expertise in evaluating and incorporating relevant research and literature, including adult learning principles into educational and training programs for direct care, supervisors, teachers and other professionals working with children with complex trauma and challenging behaviors. This position will also work as part of a multi-disciplinary team composed of educators, researchers, and consultants to identify and design programs, evaluation and research strategies.
This position will work as part of the RCCP management/leadership team overseeing the development and on-going management of the RCCP. Writing skills are essential as the writing tasks include quarterly reports, training summaries, technical assistance reports, curriculum development and annual reports.
Frequent travel is required throughout New York State, North America, and internationally.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master's degree in the social sciences, social work or related field is required.
- Experience in family and children's services, residential child care and adolescent issues, and educational settings is required.
- Must be skilled in training provision and development of training curricula with knowledge of adult learning theories and training technique.
- Must have experience in community systems and working with many levels of staff in both the public and private sector.
- Some program management experience preferred.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Should be very organized and detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills essential.
