Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Associate, Media Relations
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), the Associate, Media Relations provides foundational support to a high-impact media team shaping how the organization's work is seen, trusted, and amplified. You'll support media operations, content development, measurement, and relationship building while gaining hands-on exposure to healthcare public relations, earned media strategy, and emerging media trends in a mission-driven environment.
Role Overview
Provide foundational operational support to the full media team, maintaining media databases and organized documentation.
Draft first versions of media materials, pitches, and background content for review and refinement.
Conduct research to identify proactive story ideas, emerging trends, and new media opportunities.
Build and maintain targeted media lists, tracking reporters, outlets, and influencers across earned and social channels.
Support logistics for media interviews, onsite shoots, and press engagements.
Assist in coordinating media outreach and early relationship development with reporters.
Lead daily media monitoring, tracking coverage, sentiment, and performance metrics.
Maintain reporting dashboards and contribute to evolving measurement and analytics approaches.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and campaign objectives.
Key Qualifications
2-4 years of professional experience in healthcare public relations or communications.
Demonstrated exposure to earned media strategy, media monitoring, and content development.
Familiarity with media ecosystems, including traditional, digital, and social channels.
Experience supporting media campaigns, agency or in-house PR environments preferred.
Core Skills
Strong writing and editing capabilities with attention to clarity, tone, and accuracy.
Creative thinking paired with strong organization and follow-through.
Ability to monitor trends, synthesize insights, and translate them into actionable ideas.
Collaborative mindset with the confidence to engage internal partners and external media contacts.
Additional Information:
Schedule: Hybrid, primarily remote with flexibility to come onsite as needed for key meetings, stakeholder engagement, and team collaboration

Pay Range: $75,500.00 - $116,900.00
