  • CHEM 112 General Chemistry I Lab (2 units)
  • CHEM 114 General Chemistry II Lab (2 units)
  • CHEM 232 Organic Chemistry I Lab (2 units)
  • CHEM 234 Organic Chemistry II Lab (2 units)

Lecture Positions

  • CHEM 111 General Chemistry I (4 units)
  • CHEM 113 General Chemistry II (4 units)
  • CHEM 230 Organic Chemistry I (4 units)
  • CHEM 231 Organic Chemistry II (4 units)

Qualifications:

For labs, PhDs and graduate students will be considered; teaching experience is not required. For lectures, applicants with PhDs and teaching experience will be given preference; PhD candidates with teaching experience will be considered.

Job Responsibilities: 

Duties for lab instructors include attending a weekly lab instructor meeting, delivering a short pre-lab lecture, supervising students during experiments, and grading assignments. Lab instructors also hold remote office hours.

Lecture positions will be responsible for the entire class on their own. The course learning outcomes have been set by the Chemistry Department, and these must be addressed in the course content. The instructor has flexibility in how the content is delivered and how student learning is evaluated. The course textbook has been selected, and prior syllabi and other resources are available for use.
