Professor of Anatomy and Surgical Education

The Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London invites applications for the post of Professor of Anatomy and Surgical Education. This appointment offers an outstanding opportunity to join a world-leading team whose interdisciplinary research ranks it as one of the global premier academic departments of surgery.  You will make a significant contribution to the Department’s research and education strategies.  You will be based in the Division of Surgery, Department of Surgery and Cancer.

Teaching is a key component of this post, and you are expected to undertake in excess of 200 contact hours undergraduate teaching and close collaborative work with Human Anatomy Unit and other teachers of anatomy across the Faculty.

In addition, you will be expected to maintain a core research programme primarily in anatomy, emerging preservation models of clinical education.  An interest in fostering interdisciplinary research would be particularly welcome, especially where this complements other established research activities within the Department.  Example topics include world-leading programmes in simulation science, surgical technology, surgical education, medical robotics, new therapeutic methods and novel imaging approaches.

You will be expected to have a proven track record in education and research including a track record of publications at the highest level and evidence of the ability to attract major competitive grant funding.

Salary: Minimum starting salary of £94,829 per annum.
