A postdoctoral research associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious synthetic organic chemist to undertake research in the group of Professor David Leigh FRS at the Department of Chemistry, University of Manchester.
The Leigh research group investigates the design and synthesis of molecular machines and new types of molecular level architectures to control and influence function and properties. (For further information about the research group see webpage www.catenane.net).
The successful applicant should have, or be working towards, a PhD in organic chemistry in the area of enantioselective catalysis and/or organometallic catalysis, and have their thesis submitted prior to taking up the position. The applicant should be capable of working under their own initiative and leading a small research team, so excellent communication and organizational skills are also required.
