Responsibilities

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher for the project “Designed for acceptance – development, evaluation, and implementation of environmental policy in collaboration with Swedish municipalities.” The project investigates psychological factors underlying support for or opposition to environmental policy instruments. The work involves meta-analytic, experimental, and longitudinal methods, and includes interdisciplinary collaboration between psychology and political science.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be part of the research group Decision-making, Environmental, Economic and Political psychology (DEEP). Your main tasks will include designing and conducting psychological experiments and surveys, analyzing data using advanced statistical techniques including longitudinal data analysis, and reporting and presenting research results independently and collaboratively.

The position is full-time (100%) for two years. Some teaching and supervision within the department’s educational programs may be included.

Qualifications

Eligible applicants must hold a PhD in psychology or a closely related discipline. The degree must be completed before the start of employment. We are looking for a researcher with a strong interest in attitudes, social norms, behavioral change, or judgment and decision-making in psychological research, particularly in the field of environmental psychology.

Experience with experimental design, data collection, and statistical data analysis in psychological research is required. Experience with meta-analysis and longitudinal data analysis is particularly valuable. Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and cooperation with societal stakeholders is considered a merit.

The position requires excellent skills in planning, analysis, independent work, and teamwork. Excellent command of written and spoken English is required.

Eligibility

A person is eligible for employment as post-doctor if he or she has obtained a Swedish PhD or foreign equivalent at the time of the decision of employment. Individuals who have obtained their PhD less than three years ago (counted from the last date of accepted applications) are prioritized for employments as a post-doctoral fellow. A person who has been previously employed at the University of Gothenburg as a post-doctor during more than one year cannot be employed again within the same or related fields at the university.

Employment

The position is a full-time, fixed-term employment (100%) for two years. Starting date is to be agreed upon. Salary is determined individually in accordance with university policy.
