The position is at the Department of Electrical and Information Technology and within the Division of Communications Engineering at The Faculty of Engineering, LTH, Lund University. The division has 8 senior researchers, around 20 doctoral students and a deep collaboration with industry.
The division works within wireless communication in a wider sense, and the activities span from communication theory to implementation of antenna structures.
We are now looking for a new colleague in the form of a doctoral student in Electrical Engineering with focus on sensing and positioning.
Being a doctoral student
As a doctoral student, you are both admitted as a student and employed at Lund University.
As a doctoral student, you will be trained in a scientific approach. In short, you will be trained to think critically and analytically, to solve problems independently using the right methods, and to develop an awareness of research ethics. Work duties
You will primarily devote yourself to your doctoral programme, which includes participation in research projects as well as third cycle courses, seminars and conferences.
We will explore different system configurations to obtain reliable and efficient sensing and positioning. Especially we will work on message passing and joint processing of data from distributed nodes with local angular and delay information in a multi-static transceiver setup. We will also work with advanced short range radio technologies, specifically Bluetooth based methods with angular plus distance information and millimetre wave pulsed radar methods with angular plus distance information.
The work duties include:
- Participation in individual and joint research projects within the framework of the competence centre.
- Carry out doctoral courses within the framework of the doctoral subject.
- Contribute to the joint activities of the competence centre.
- The duties also include participation in teaching and other departmental work (however, a maximum of 20% of working hours).
