We are seeking:
PhD researchers with the potential to lead their own lines of basic, translational and/or clinical research and to energise one or more areas of the La Princesa Health Research Institute.
Requirements:
- PhD degree obtained between 1 January 2014 and 31 December 2021.
- Before 2014 in cases of maternity/paternity leave, pregnancy risk, prolonged temporary incapacity, or care of dependent persons.

Specific Requirements

What is assessed to access the Miguel Servet programme:
- Up to 10 publications with original results since 2021 (inclusive, extendable under certain circumstances) – 45 points.
- Other merits (mobility, specialised healthcare training, full Río Hortega programme, projects, innovation and knowledge transfer activities, science communication for society, etc.) – 25 points.
- Quality of the proposal, suitability of the proposal for the programme, feasibility and timeliness – 30 points.

Benefits

What the ISCIII Miguel Servet programme offers:
- Appointment under a 5-year employment contract in the category of Associate Researcher (gross base salary €40,500 + updates).
- Additional funding of €40,000 to cover costs of the contracted researcher directly related to the execution of their research activities.
- Following a positive final evaluation, a permanent position will be created in the category of Senior Researcher, with a salary above €55,000 (gross base salary + career progression + updates).
- Appointment in the priority areas (Areas 2, 3 and 4) among the five areas into which the Institute is organised (see below).

Selection process

Send to iis.hlpr@salud.madrid.org before 2 February 2026:
- A brief CV adapted to the evaluation criteria on the following page of this expression of interest.
- Research proposal, indicating:
     - Your main line of expertise.
     - Which area of the Institute could you strengthen? (Among the priority areas, i.e., Areas 2, 3 and        4).
     - How would you interact with the other areas?
     - What technology or methodology would you bring to strengthen the Institute?
Following evaluation by the Internal Scientific Committee, the candidate will be selected and, after approval by the Board of Trustees, will submit the application to ISCIII from 11 February to 4 March 2026.
