Offer Description

We are looking for a technician to work in the omics data of the PredictCOPD project. The candidate will work on the curation of the raw data and apply different analytical methods for omics and trajectories. Sample papers from the lab can be viewed at Pubmed/Google Scholar. 

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary lab from the University of Barcelona, have access to computational infrastructures, and will establish collaborations with experts in and outside the host institution.

 

Gross salary per year: €29.828,10

Degree in biosciences, statistics, engineer, bioinformatics or similar.  

Key skills: 

• Conduct high-quality computational analysis 
• Experience in data handling and cleaning
• Collaborate with various research groups across Europe and elsewhere


Specific Requirements

Good programming skills including at least several of the following: algorithms, HPC, data analysis, scientific computing, statistics, machine learning, programming in R/phyton, network biology, network analytics, small RNAseq, methylation, RNA-seq, DNA-seq.

Eligibility criteria

The selection is made through the evaluation of the curriculum, with an overall score of zero (0) to ten (10) points. The minimum score is five (5) points. The evaluation criteria are the following: 

 

- Suitability of the candidate to the main function to be carried out 

- Curricular experience 

- Professional knowledge and skills 

- Communication skills and motivation. 

 

The tribunal, in its constitutive session, assesses the CVs of the candidates presented. 


Selection process

A resolution of adjudication is issued to the person who, having passed the selection procedure, obtains the highest score and publishes the prioritised list of applicants who have passed the selection process, indicating the scores obtained, for subsequent recruitment, if necessary.


Additional comments

Duration of the contract of employment:12 months, renewable up to 31/02/2027

The candidate proposed for hiring must accept the job offer within 5 working days from the date of notification of the selection. 

Priority will be given to people with disabilities (Law 89/2015 of June 2, reserve of quota 2% in favour of people with disabilities in companies of 50 or more people).
