Introduction to the vacant position: 

The Protein Phase Transitions in Health and Disease Research Group is looking for a Senior technician to develop research activities within the field of deep mutagenesis and protein aggregation 

Main tasks and responsibilities: 

• Contribute to the research team with high quality research ideas, performance of research projects, design new large-scale experiments and selection protocols, providing ideas for new research lines.
• Lead and support experimental and data-driven projects, ensuring high-quality and timely technical execution across both wet-lab and computational workflows.
• Establish, optimize, and maintain protocols and data processes, guaranteeing efficiency, reproducibility and compliance with project goals.
• Foster technical excellence within the group by coordinating training, sharing best practices, and proactively identifying needs and improvements in methods, tools and purchases. 

Requirements for candidates:  

Essential: 

• Ph.D with experience in genomics, bioinformatics, large scale data analysis, intrinsically disordered proteins
• Experience in running deep mutational scanning experiments

• Full-time, Permanent position.  Specific Rate of Replacement for the stabilization of temporary work, requested by the Administration of the Generalitat based on the Law 2/2023, of march 16, and the Law 31/2022, of December 23, on general State budgets for the year 2023, both currently extended.

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, IBEC is an interdisciplinary research center focused on Bioengineering and Nanomedicine based in Barcelona.
