announces a competition for the position of Head of the Foreign Languages ​​Department

A. Candidates applying for the competition must meet the following requirements:

1. hold a Master's degree in English Philology,
2. have at least 5 years of experience as an assistant, assistant professor, lecturer, research and technical staff member, or engineering and technical staff member at a higher education institution,
3. document achievements demonstrating significant teaching experience (e.g., opinions, certificates, diplomas, publications of a teaching or popularizing nature),
4. demonstrate professional achievements in the fields of research, teaching, training of junior academic staff, and leading research teams.

B. Pursuant to § 9, paragraph 2 of the Competition Rules, the competition cannot be entered by a person who:

does not meet the conditions specified in Art. 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended).

C. Candidates entering the competition must submit the following documents:
1. application,
2. a declaration by the candidate that they have read and accepted the "Rules of the Competition Procedure for the Selection of Heads of Faculty and University-wide Units",
3. a curriculum vitae, including professional work, including research and teaching,
4. a copy of a document confirming the award of a postdoctoral degree or academic title (if applicable),
5. a copy of the relevant specialization (if applicable),
6. a list of publications, including the scoring system determined and confirmed by the Main Library of the Medical University of Warsaw,
7. information on activities related to the training of young academic staff,
8. a proposed development program for the unit covered by the competition,
9. a declaration regarding basic employment in accordance with Art. 120, sec. 2 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended),
10. declaration of the absence of the circumstances referred to in point B,
11. the opinion of the department head regarding the candidate for the next term in the same unit, in the case of a competition for the head of a unit within the department,
12. any references or opinions regarding research and teaching,
13. a declaration of consent to the processing of personal data with the following text: "I consent to the processing of my special categories of personal data contained in the submitted documents" – if the submitted documents include special categories of data, e.g., health-related data,
14. for individuals who are not employees of the Wrocław Medical University, candidates may submit the following documents: certificates confirming completion of foreign internships lasting at least one month, proof of previous teaching achievements, conducting studies in a foreign language, managing a research grant, supervising or supporting the supervision of doctoral dissertations, developing a utility model or patent, and certificates of awards received.

E. Information regarding the processing of personal data
The controller of personal data processed for the purposes of the competition for the selection of heads of organizational units of the University is the Medical University of Wrocław, located at Wybrzeże Pasteura 1, 50-367 Wrocław, represented by the Rector. The University processes personal data within the scope specified in the Labor Code, the Law on Higher Education and Science, and other applicable regulations pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation, i.e., to fulfill the legal obligation incumbent on the controller. Providing other personal data, to the extent not specified by law, will be treated as consent to the processing of such data. If the documents contain special categories of data, e.g., health-related data, your written consent to their processing will be required. Consent is voluntary, and you may withdraw it at any time. The decision to appoint a head of an organizational unit is made by the Rector, taking into account the competition documentation and the results of the selection committee's vote (§ 16 of the Rules of the Competition Procedure for the Selection of Heads of Faculty and University-wide Units).

For candidates who are not employees of the Wrocław Medical University and those whose employment relationship terminates before the date of assuming the position, the selection committee will additionally conduct activities specified in the Rules of Conducting Competition Procedures for Academic Teacher Positions.

The competition will be decided within six months of the date of the competition announcement.
