Candidate requirements:

• A doctoral degree in the field of social sciences or humanities and at least a master's degree in social sciences in the discipline of psychology.
• Interests in general, developmental and social psychology.
• Documented experience as a psychologist.
• Confirmed participation in conferences or training in psychology.
• Knowledge of English at a communicative level or higher.
• Knowledge of a second foreign language (an additional asset).
• Commitment to take up employment at the University of Lodz as the primary place of work on a full-time basis.
• Fluent knowledge of Polish in speech and writing, necessary to conduct didactic classes.

Scope of duties at the position held

Conscientious and diligent performance of the tasks entrusted to them and following the instructions of their superiors concerning work, if they are not contrary to the law. An academic teacher is obliged in particular:

Scope of tasks in the area of teaching duties:

• conducting didactic classes carried out as part of an employment relationship on an annual basis, determined by the Senate in full-time, part-time studies, including conducting didactic classes using distance learning methods and techniques;
• conducting classes exceeding the annual amount (treated as overtime), if necessary;
• conducting credits for classes;
• timely preparation of documentation of the course of studies required for academic teachers, including documentation of credits in the USOS system;
• in cooperation with the course coordinator, participation in updating the content of the conducted classes;
• supervising students' credit and semester papers;
• developing teaching materials for classes;
• preparing classes in a foreign language;
• improving one's own professional qualifications in the field of didactic classes;
• care for the high quality of education and compliance of didactic work with the principles of the internal system of quality assurance of education;
• conducting consultations with students, for at least 2 hours per week;
• cooperating with the socio-economic environment in connection with the conducted classes;
• performing other teaching duties entrusted by the immediate superior. 

Scope of tasks in the area of research duties:

• conducting and participating in scientific research and development works;
• raising funds for scientific research by applying in competitions;
• undertaking procedures in order to obtain funds for scientific research by applying in competitions;
• disseminating the results of scientific research by publishing them in scientific journals and monographs, whereby the number and type of publications must be sufficient to obtain a positive employee evaluation, the rules of which are specified in the Resolution of the Senate of the University of Lodz No. 29 of 12.12.2016 and the Council of the Faculty of Fine Arts of 18.05.2017 and the Ordinance No. 54 of the Rector of the University of Lodz of 19.12.2019;
• active participation in scientific conferences and seminars, financed as part of the tasks carried out by the unit;
• establishing cooperation with foreign research centers;
• cooperation with national centers.

Scope of tasks in the area of organizational duties:

• work in the admissions committee in the process of admission;
• organizing promotional and presentation campaigns for the University and participating in them;
• participation in the organization of conferences, symposia, seminars and other forms of academic activity;
• performing functions entrusted by superiors, including taking care of students' professional practices;
• other organizational duties entrusted by the immediate superior

The candidate must meet the condition of no criminal record for the offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Criminal Code, in Articles 189a and 207 of the Criminal Code, and in the Act of 29 July 2005 on counteracting drug addiction 2 (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939) and for the criminal offences corresponding to these offences specified in the provisions of foreign law.
