Skills/Qualifications

1. Doctoral degree in the discipline of geography or social and economic geography and spatial
management or economy or architecture and urban planning;
2. Knowledge of rural development and spatial planning;
3. Experience in preparation of scientific articles;
4. Experience in speeches at national and international conferences;
5. Knowledge of IT techniques used in socioeconomic geography and spatial management, including knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS) software;
6. Knowledge of spatial analysis methods;
7. Experience in university teaching;
8. Fluency in Polish—ability to communicate clearly and concisely;
9. Fluency in English—ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Additional assets:
• experience in preparing and running scientific projects,
• practical experience related to the use of spatial planning and urban design in rural areas in the spatial management of local government units,
• activity related to the organisation of research and teaching.

  • Information on the Applicant’s research, teaching and organizational achievements,
  • Other documents as determined by the competition committee.
    • Information about scientific and didactic achievements of the last five years, including:
      • List of publications,
      • List of research projects, List of conference speeches,
      • List of conducted teaching activities,
      • Information about the training courses received, certificates held, lnformation about the reports and expert assessments made,
    • Information about cooperation with scientific centres at home and abroad,
    • Research plan for the next three years,
    • Copies of three selected scientific publications,
    • Declaration that Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań will be the applicant's main employer,

Eligibility criteria
  • Scientific competences (documented national and international publication achievements, management of and participation in research projects financed from external sources, participation in conferences at home and abroad, a submitted research plan) —25 pts
  • Teaching competences (teaching activities conducted in Polish and English, compatibility of a candidate's teaching profile with the profile of the unit) — 15 pts
  • Cooperation with the socio-economic environment (prepared reports, expert assessments, science popularisationj — 5 pts
  • Professional development (courses attended, training completed, certificates held) — 5 pts

    • Selection process

    1. Competition committee begins working no later than 14 days after the deadline for submission of documents. 

    2. Formal evaluation of submitted proposals. 

    3. Call to provide additional or missing documents if necessary. 

    4. Selection of candidates for the interview stage. 

    5. Interviews with selected candidates. 

    6. The committee has the right to request external reviews of candidates' work or to ask candidates to conduct teaching assignments with an opportunity for student evaluation. 

    7. The University reserves the right to cancel the competition without providing a reason. 

    8. The chair of the competition committee announces the results and informs the candidates. This information will include justification with a reference to candidates' strengths and weaknesses. Submitted documents will be sent back to candidates.
