Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA) invites applications for the position of Research Group Leader within a research and experimental development (R&D) project funded under the Lithuanian Research Council programme “My First Research Team” (Progress Measure No. 12-003-03-06-01 “Improving the Research and Study Environment”).

Project title: “Research on Visual Simulations of Architectural Objects and Spaces and Residents’ Responses to Develop Guidelines for a More Inclusive Urban Environment.”

Project duration: 36 months.

Keywords: Eye-tracking, Architectural design prototypes, Biomimicry, Psychological comfort, Social inclusion, Urban environment, Visual simulations (VR/AR), Visual perception.

Skills/Qualifications

The Research Group Leader will be responsible for:

• shaping and implementing the scientific research agenda of the project;
• establishing and leading an interdisciplinary research team;
• ensuring the quality, dissemination, and impact of research outcomes;
• supervising doctoral, postdoctoral, and early-career researchers;
• fostering international collaboration and researcher mobility.

Applicants must:

• hold a PhD or Doctor of Arts degree in a field relevant to the project theme;
• qualify as an early-career researcher (no more than 7 years since obtaining the PhD, excluding legally recognised career breaks);
• demonstrate active research or artistic research engagement within the last 5 years;
• not have previously led a research project funded by the Lithuanian Research Council under programmes excluded by the “My First Research Team” scheme;
• demonstrate experience in research organisation, dissemination, and international collaboration.

Applicants are requested to submit:

Narrative CV (preferably in the Resume for Research and Innovation – R4RI format);

List of key scientific / artistic publications and projects;

Short description of research focus and methodologies;

Evidence of leadership and international experience;

Any additional documents supporting scientific competence.

Benefits

Bruto salary - 2246 Euros.

40 working days of holidays per year.
