* Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Position Summary:
The Cell Proliferation and Gene Editing Unit investigates the molecular mechanisms that regulate cell division and mitotic quality control in the context of disease and aging. Our research aims to uncover tumor-suppressive pathways, identify cancer-specific vulnerabilities, and determine how mitotic stress contributes to both cancer progression and age-associated decline.
For more information, please visit our website: https://www.oist.jp/research/research-units/cellpro
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to lead a project examining how mitotic stress drives cellular and organismal aging.
[Work content and job description]
The successful candidate will work with cell culture systems and mouse models and will employ cutting-edge approaches such as high-throughput live-cell imaging, genome-wide genetic screens, precise gene editing, and biochemical reconstitution to uncover new mechanistic principles.
Our unit offers a supportive, collaborative, and interdisciplinary research environment that fosters scientific excellence and professional development.
