The Agentic AI Research Team (AART) is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral researcher specializing in NLP or applied mathematics/statistics/computer science, willing to specialize their research on large language models (LLMs). The successful candidate will contribute to the development of trustworthy LLMs by focusing on either uncertainty quantification or how uncertainty should be expressed to users.

・Develop uncertainty quantification techniques tailored for a multi-modal setting
・Design frameworks to evaluate valuable LLMs' responses beyond simple correctness (e.g., cautiousness, informativeness or consistency)
・Investigate and mitigate hallucination, misinformation, or bias in LLM-generated responses
・Leverage structured knowledge (e.g., graphs) and symbolic reasoning to enhance model robustness and interpretability
・Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers to build agents for real-world applications
・Contribute to publications in top-tier conferences or journals in applied mathematics/statistics/AI/ML/NLP

Wages description:Hourly payment system, from 2,200 to 2,500 yen per hour (decided based on AIST's policy)
