The project aims to study the boundaries of Human-Computer Interaction with respect to the application of Generative AI in a variety of tasks. The focus is on the effect of this technology on human-decision making in work related context, leisure activities, and political deliberation. Following research on computer supported cooperative work, critical data science and interaction design we aim to study how the human actor makes sense of the machine behaviour and what user interfaces may help the establishment of a common ground between human and computers. Empirical research investigates how to represent human and machine abilities and limitations, define accountability, and raise awareness of benefits and limitations of GenAI amongst the public...
