The lack of cost-effective, real-time monitoring and control systems means that bioprocesses which include Anaerobic Digestion (AD), brewing, distilling and dairy processing, are operated sub-optimally and as such are experiencing loses in productivity, yields and profits. These loses could be alleviated if key analytes that indicate bioprocess performance, could be quantified, automatically, accurately, cost effectively and in real time. This Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation fund project titled - "Microorganism Based Biosensor Platform" seeks to commercialise a microorganism based biosensor platform that has been developed in UCD to provide real time and cost-effective analyte detection bioprocesses.

Fixed Salary: €54,307 per annum

Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 30/01/2026
