Offer Description

We are seeking a chemist or a pharmacist to join an interactive research team that operates across cancer immunology, molecular biology and drug discovery. The ideal candidate should possess at least a MSc degree organic synthesis or the synthesis of bioactive molecules. (S)he should have experience in chemistry of peptides -peptide or peptidomimetic synthesis. Know how on the use of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Mass Spectroscopy would be highly valued.

The successful candidate will work closely with bioinformaticians and molecular biologists at Tsoumakidou lab and chemists at matralis-lab , to generate novel compounds (small molecules, proteins, antibody-drug conjugates) that target novel molecular pathways with key roles in cancer progression. (S)he will also work towards advancing cell-specific drug delivery approaches.

The project is funded by an ERC-2022-Consolidator Grant, entitled “Artifying fibroblasts: Perturbation modelling in the lung tumor phase space to rewire fibroblasts for immunotherapy”(2023-2028).
