Offer Description

This post-doc follows on from a PhD thesis completed at the TIMC laboratory, in collaboration with the Annecy Genevois Hospital Center. The thesis focused on developing biomechanical models of the faces of patients undergoing orthognathic surgery, including cutting and repositioning of the maxillary and/or mandibular structures. The objective was to predict the aesthetic and functional consequences of this surgery.
A clinical study was launched in 2025 by the Annecy Genevois Hospital Center, including around 30 patients for whom pre- and post-operative scans were collected. The objective of the post-doc will be to quantitatively compare the predictions made by the digital twins of the patients' faces with the post-operative reality.

- Collection and processing of post-operative scanner imaging data
- Processing of data measuring facial elasticity in patients
- Processing of data capturing 3D surfaces based on facial expressions
- Numerical simulations (Finite Element) of bone repositioning
- Quantification of errors between model predictions and post-operative reality

This work will be carried out by the Biomécamot team (https://www.timc.fr/BiomecaMot ) at the TIMC laboratory, which is part of the CNRS's Computer Science and Engineering Institute. This laboratory brings together around 300 researchers, teachers, and clinicians in the Grenoble metropolitan area, focusing on the theme of Technologies for Health.
