Job Description:

The Department of Architecture at the School of Sciences and Engineering (SSE) seeks employment for a full-time faculty member position at the rank of Assistant, or Associate Professor, with a possible tenure track employment, , starting Fall 2026, in the area of Integrated Professional Design. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the Bachelor of Architecture Program at the American University in Cairo, particularly through teaching courses related to integrated architectural design, building codes and regulations, real estate development, project financing, and professional ethics, as well as architectural professional practice, project delivery and business management, in alignment with NAAB accreditation requirements. She/he is also expected to establish and pursue an interdisciplinary research focus in the area of professional practice and project delivery and to lead an outreach program within the university and the community at large.


Requirements:

The candidate must have a Doctoral/PhD Degree in Architecture. Special preference will be given to candidates having a strong track record of teaching and professional practice experience in areas related to project delivery, business management, building codes and regulations, and real estate development, with experience in US and/or international practices, as well as familiarity with NAAB requirements. Awareness of local norms, professional experiences and practices is a plus.
