Job Description
A position as non-tenured Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutics is available from 1 March 2026 until 28 February 2029 at the Department of Physics Chemistry and Pharmacy , Faculty of Science, SDU.
A candidate with experience within pharmaceutical sciences with special emphasis on drug formulation for parenteral formulations is prioritized and in particular suspensions for long acting injectables. It is furthermore expected that the successful candidate has a genuine interest in and experience with interdisciplinary research and is bridge-building between the relevant scientific disciplines at the department.
Tasks
- Establish highly impactful independent research in the field of pharmaceutics.
- Obtain external funding for independent research and collaborative research programs.
- Mentor undergraduate, graduate, and research students.
- Bridge-build between the various disciplines within the interdisciplinary Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy.
- Initiate and participate in public, media, and local school outreach activities.
- Teach in educational programs at the department, mainly within the pharmacy education.
- Participate in the daily operation, administration and further development of the department’s strategy and education programs.
Skills
An MSc in Pharmacy or equivalent and a PhD degree in a pharmaceutically relevant field are required for the position. It is expected that the successful candidate will bridge-build between the relevant scientific disciplines of interdisciplinary nature at the department and beyond. For non-Danish speaking applicants, it is sought that teaching in Danish will be possible after two years of appointment.

Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Please check links for more information on salary (only available in Danish) and taxation .
