The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, pursuant to Article 14, paragraph 6, item 15 of the Statute of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, announces a

PUBLIC COMPETITION

for the selection and employment of

  • one employee in an associate position — project associate / postdoctoral researcher in the field of biotechnical sciences, scientific field of biotechnology, at the Laboratory for Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Microbiology, and Beer and Malt Technology of the Department of Biochemical Engineering, funded by the HORIZON Europe project ‘ToFuel – an integrated biorefinery for sustainable aviation fuel production from tomato residues’ GA 101235233 (call HORIZON-CL5-2024-D3-02), for a fixed-term full-time position.

    Mandatory requirements:

    • All applicants must meet the general requirements prescribed by the Labour Act (“Official Gazette” Nos. 93/14, 127/17, 98/19, 151/22, 64/23) and comply with the provisions of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (“Official Gazette” No. 119/2022), the Statute of the University of Zagreb, and the Statute of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology.
    • Completed graduate university study programme (CROQF level 7.0) in the corresponding scientific field and area.
    • four years of work experience

     

    Desirable criteria:

    • Experience in scientific research work in cultivation of different types of microorganisms, microbiological techniques, HPLC/UPLC and GC analytics, spectrophotometry, and statistical analysis of research data.
    • Knowledge and experience in bioprocess engineering.
    • Experience in international or national scientific research projects.

  • Decision on the recognition of foreign educational qualifications for candidates who obtained their qualification abroad

  • Proof of Croatian language proficiency at level C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (for foreign nationals)

    Candidates claiming preference under Article 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids must provide a decision/certificate demonstrating this right and proof of the manner in which their previous employment ended.

    Candidates claiming preference under Article 9 of the Act on Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities must submit proof of disability.
