Offer Description
The Institute of Art History (IAH) (www.ipu.hr ), based in Zagreb with a branch office in Split, is a public research institution dedicated to the study of the history and theory of Croatian visual arts. A member of the International Association of Research Institutes in the History of Art (RIHA), the Institute employs 37 staff members, including 19 researchers and 10 expert associates. Its primary mission is to conduct fundamental and applied research, interpret and evaluate art phenomena, monuments, and significant personalities within Croatia, while placing this heritage within national, regional, and European contexts. The IAH is the only national institute in Croatia specialized in art history.
The Institute of Art History (IAH) is opening a call for applications for the position of:
Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Humanities – Art History for work in the Research Unit for Modern and Contemporary art (f/m), 1 position
This is a full-time position offered under a fixed-term contract of up to four years. The performance of the Postdoctoral Researcher will be evaluated annually.
General conditions: Candidates must meet the general conditions for employment and the criteria prescribed by the Croatian law and the general acts of the Institute.
Eligibility Criteria:
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Art History with demonstrated potential for excellence in research.
Additional Qualifications:
- Previous or current participation in research projects related to Art History
- Strong motivation and commitment to academic research
- Fluent in English or knowledge of at least one world language
The requirement for foreign citizens is knowledge of the Croatian language at least at an intermediate level.
