CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

 

A. for the appointment of scientists to scientific-teaching positions and associates to associate positions in the scientific area of Biomedicine and Health

 

 

 

A.2. Scientific field: Basic Medical Sciences

 

 

  • one senior assistant, scientific branch: medical biochemistry, at the Department of Medical Chemistry, Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry, Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka, for a fixed term of four years, full-time.

    Candidates applying to the call must meet the requirements prescribed by the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act, the Decision on the Necessary Conditions for Assessing Teaching and Scientific-Professional Activities in the Procedure of Appointment to Scientific-Teaching Titles of the Rectors’ Conference and the National Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development, the Ordinance on Requirements for the Appointment to Scientific Titles of the National Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development, and the Ordinance on Additional Requirements for the Appointment to Scientific-Teaching Positions in the Area of Biomedicine and Health of the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka.

     

  • Candidates applying for appointment to an associate position must enclose the following documents together with the signed application:
    • CV,
    • certificate of grade point average or Diploma Supplement (for appointment to the assistant position),
    • copy of diploma or certificate of completed study programme,
    • certificate of medical fitness issued by an authorised occupational medicine practitioner (for the first appointment).

     

    Applications may be submitted by persons of both sexes (Article 13(2) of the Gender Equality Act, official gazette of the Republic of Croatia „Narodne novine“ Nos. 82/08, 69/17).

     

    By applying to this call, the candidates consent that all their personal data contained in the application documents be collected and processed for the purpose of conducting the application process in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data.

     

    Candidates entitled to priority employment under special regulations must cite this right in their application and enclose all evidence required by the special regulations proving their eligibility for exercising such right. Such candidates shall receive priority in employment compared to other candidates only under equal conditions. Candidates entitled to priority employment under the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and their Family Members and the Act on Civilian Homeland War Victims must cite this right in their application and enclose evidence proving that they meet the said conditions.

     

    Candidates whose mother tongue is not Croatian must submit proof of Croatian language proficiency (B2 level) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Candidates educated outside the Republic of Croatia must submit an opinion of the competent authority on the recognition of a foreign professional qualification.

     

    Prior to making a decision, the Faculty reserves the right to verify the knowledge and skills by testing and/or interviewing the candidates who submit a timely and orderly application and meet the formal requirements. The candidates shall be notified about the conducting of the tests and/or interviews in a timely manner. If a candidate fails to appear for the test, they shall be considered to have withdrawn their application. The Faculty reserves the right to partially or fully annul the application process and not select any candidate, without providing specific justification.
