Position Description

Applications are invited for several open-rank permanent and visiting positions in the College of Mathematical Sciences at Harbin Engineering University.

Candidates in areas including, but not limited to, Dynamical Systems, Bifurcation Analysis, Complex Networks, Optimization, Mathematical Biology, Biostatistics, Mathematical Epidemiology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, P robability Theory, Stochastic Analysis, Mathematical Statistics, Bayesian Statistics are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities for these positions include mathematical research, undergraduate and graduate teaching (1+1), and departmental and university service.

At the time of appointment, candidates are required to have a PhD degree in Statistics/Mathematics or a closely related field. The candidates are also expected to have demonstrated an excellent research track record and a solid teaching commitment.

We will provide the following:

Highly competitive annual salary. Depending on rank and experience, starting salary is generally higher than the average university in mainland China. In addition to the basic salary, an annual bonus will also be offered. The salary for postdocs is fixed between 270K RMB to 450K RMB.

A generous package of start-up funds and allowance. Depending on the rank of positions, the agreement on the start-up funds and allowance is on a case-by-case basis. 

Housing. Successful candidates will be eligible to apply for subsidized apartments.
