Part-time Faculty Member in Music Performance (Ref: SCC250814)

The Department of Music at BNBU invites applications from learner-centered scholars/practitioners in the field of music to teach musical performance related courses to undergraduate students in the Music Performance programme. 

 

Qualifications:

A Master Degree, PhD or DMA in Music Performance or Music Education, specialising in Marimba. Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching.

Evidence of success in the organization and coordination of musical performances is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates who have international teaching experience in a higher education setting.

 

Candidates should have the ability to:

  • Teach Private Instruction Courses and supervise students in playing Marimba
  • Good communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Keep abreast of regional, national, and international developments and initiatives in music and music industry.  

     

    Proficiency in English is required. English is the medium of instruction in the Music Performance Programme. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience and research accomplishments.

    Appointment Terms:
    Appointments to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of one semester or one year. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement.
