Hiring Unit:

Department of Chemistry
Position Summary:

  • Support a project focused on the design, synthesis, and catalytic applications of Group III nitride materials (e.g., GaN, InN, AlN).
  • Catalyst synthesis and characterization.
  • Conduct catalytic and photocatalytic reactions.
  • Data analysis.
  • Assist with literature review and manuscript preparation.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to conduct experiments independently, analyze data, and document results accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Have extensive research experience of using GaN as photocatalyst for the reaction of methane.

Education and Experience:

PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.

Prior research experience in catalysis, photocatalysis, or materials chemistry is preferred.

Experience with laboratory techniques related to catalyst synthesis, materials characterization, or reaction testing is an asset.

Familiarity with data analysis, scientific literature review, and basic research documentation practices.

Hands-on experience with materials synthesis and characterization techniques is an asset (e.g., XRD, SEM/TEM, XPS, UV–vis).
