Hiring Unit:

Department of Geography
Position Summary:

• Conduct applied research related to urban transportation, mobility, accessibility and land use
• Assist with quantitative and qualitative tasks under the supervision of the Research Supervisor
• Support data collection, cleaning and preparation (e.g. survey data, administrative datasets)
• Participate in exploratory and descriptive data analysis using established protocols
• Conduct literature searches and contribute to annotated bibliographies and research summaries
• Assist with documentation of methods and preliminary interpretation of findings
• Support preparation of figures, tables and materials for reports, presentations, and academic outputs

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:

• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Experience with quantitative data analysis (e.g. R or similar)
• Familiarity with survey data and/or administrative datasets
• Ability to conduct structures literature reviews
• Strong written communication skills in English (French an asset)
• Attention to detail and ability to follow research protocols
• Previous coursework or experience in research methods and/or data analysis
• Prior research assistant experience is an asset but not required
• Interest in transportation, urban planning or public policy research

Experience and Education:

• MA/MSc in Geography (or related field)
• Previous coursework or experience in research methods and/or data analysis
• Prior research assistant experience is an asset but not required
