Hiring Unit:
Department of Geography
Position Summary:
- Conduct applied research related to urban transportation, mobility, accessibility and land use
- Assist with quantitative and qualitative tasks under the supervision of the Research Supervisor
- Support data collection, cleaning and preparation (e.g. survey data, administrative datasets)
- Participate in exploratory and descriptive data analysis using established protocols
- Conduct literature searches and contribute to annotated bibliographies and research summaries
- Assist with documentation of methods and preliminary interpretation of findings
- Support preparation of figures, tables and materials for reports, presentations, and academic outputs
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Experience with quantitative data analysis (e.g. R or similar)
- Familiarity with survey data and/or administrative datasets
- Ability to conduct structures literature reviews
- Strong written communication skills in English (French an asset)
- Attention to detail and ability to follow research protocols
- Previous coursework or experience in research methods and/or data analysis
- Prior research assistant experience is an asset but not required
- Interest in transportation, urban planning or public policy research
Experience and Education:
- MA/MSc in Geography (or related field)
- Previous coursework or experience in research methods and/or data analysis
- Prior research assistant experience is an asset but not required
