YOUR TASKS

  • Your assignment involves carrying out substantive and support activities within the West Flanders–Zhejiang pilot project focusing on the monitoring of centralised and decentralised water treatment systems. This includes, among other things, on site sampling and analysis at various treatment facilities, covering parameters such as COD, nitrogen, phosphorus and metals. The collected data are processed, analysed and correlated, followed by scientific reporting of the obtained results. You are also responsible for project reporting.
  • In addition, your assignment includes performing analytical work, laboratory experiments and service activities related to water treatment within the framework of the LED Water project, in close collaboration with VITO. You are responsible for data processing, scientific analysis and reporting of the conducted experiments, including the preparation of interim reports and the final project report.
  • Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to the organisation of project related events (such as workshops, meetings and dissemination activities) and to provide support to other doctoral researchers within the research team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a Master’s degree Master of Science in Industrial Sciences: Environmental Science, Master of Science in Industrial Sciences: Chemical technology, Master of Science in Bio‑Industrial Sciences: Circular Bioprocess Technology, Master of Science in Bio‑Engineering Sciences: Environmental Technology, Master of Science in Bio‑Engineering Sciences: Chemistry and Bioprocess Technology, Master of Science in Sciences
  • You have an interest in scientific and/or project-based research and services.
  • You possess strong communication skills.
  • Preferably, you already have some experience with sampling at companies and/or water technology experiments and analyses.
  • A first industrial and/or international experience is an advantage.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration (40%) for the period of 2 years.
  • Your contract will start on 1/03/2026 at the earliest.
