Offer Description
  • Representing the subject of dramaturgy in research and teaching
  • Supervising practical and academic artistic exams and theses
  • Designing and developing artistic-academic projects, such as symposia, workshops, discussion series, etc.
  • Concept and implementation of research projects, including third-party funding acquisition
  • Collaboration on the development and implementation of scientific and artistic training objectives of the study program Performing Arts
  • Participation in the institute's tasks regarding teaching and research organization
  • Participation in organizational, administrative, and evaluation tasks, as well as in commissions and committees of the university

Minimum salary: according to the Austrian collective agreement, the pay is a minimum of € 6.604.30 gross per month (14 times/year). A possible higher salary depends on qualification and previous experience.

Skills/Qualifications
  • A completed domestic or equivalent foreign university degree (scientific doctorate or PhD) relevant to the position
  • Habilitation or an equivalent relevant qualification
  • Excellent qualification in research, teaching and practice in the subject of dramaturgy (focus on drama theatre)
  • Outstanding research achievements in the field of dramaturgy, documented by relevant publications
  • Experience in university teaching, in supervising scientific/artistic-scientific theses, and in scientific organization
  • Professional experience as dramaturg at a high artistic level at established theatres and/or under independent production conditions, and an extended professional network
  • Gender and diversity competences
  • Excellent written and spoken German language skills

Specific Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of current discourse/dialogue in theatre historiography, contemporary dramaturgy research, theatre- and acting theory, and theatre aesthetics
  • Extensive knowledge of dramatic world literature and contemporary German- and international drama
  • Experience in acquiring and implementing research projects and scientific/academic events
  • Willingness to work closely with colleagues at the institute regarding content and organization
  • Willingness to collaborate within the university and optional external partners
