Your personal sphere of influence:
The Department of Commercial und Business Law is looking for two University assistants predoctoral with an interest in commercial law, especially competition and antitrust law issues, to support teaching and research.
The Department is part of the Faculty of Law. The Department is responsible for teaching and research in the field of commercial and business law.
As a University assistant predoctoral you will complement the team of Univ.-Prof. Dr.iur. Jannik Otto. Your tasks will include active participation in teaching as well as in research and publication projects.
Place of work: Faculty of Law, Department of Commercial and Business Law (Univ.-Prof. Dr.iur. Jannik Otto), Juridicum, Schottenbastei 10-16, 1010 Vienna.
The position is advertised for 4 years, whereby the employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-extension after a maximum of 12 month.
The position is expected to start on 03/15/2026.
Your future tasks:
The range of your responsibilities include:
- Participation in research, teaching and administration
- Assisting with examination activities
- Participation in publications and scientific articles
- Completion of a dissertation agreement within 12-18 months is expected
- Possibility to write a dissertation
- Participation in and independent teaching of courses
- Studental supervision
This is part of your personality:
- Completed degree in law
- Special interest in competition and antitrust law
- Above-average academic achievement (at least in the field of civil and commercial law)
- Excellent computer skills (MS-Office)
- Experience in working with legal databases
- Very good written and spoken German language skills
- Very good written and spoken English language skills
- High level of written and oral communication skills
- Didactic qualification
- Ability to work in a team
