The Financial and Actuarial Mathematics Group (FAM ) at TU Wien (Vienna, Austria) is searching for a candidate to fill a position as a University Assistant Post-Doc, expected to begin in March 2026 (40 hours per week, limited to expected 6 years).

Tasks

  • Research and publication activities in the subject area
  • Teaching and assisting with examinations at Bachelor and Master level in Financial and Actuarial Mathematics
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in and organization of scientific events
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks and in evaluation measures
  • Commitment to contributing to the acquisition of external research funding
  • Opportunity for habilitation is provided

Your profile

  • Completed — or nearly completed — doctoral studies in Financial and Actuarial Mathematics, stochastic analysis, or a closely related field of mathematics
    (you are welcome to apply with nearly completed doctoral studies, but the employment can only start after completion).
  • Familiarity with academic/scientific work
  • Experience with presentations
  • Advanced knowledge in the relevant subject area
  • Teaching experience is advantageous
  • Excellent command of English
  • German language skills are advantageous
  • Organizational and analytical skills and structured way of working
  • Interest and enthusiasm for research and working with students
  • Teamwork skills and problem-solving competence
