The Financial and Actuarial Mathematics Group (FAM ) at TU Wien (Vienna, Austria) is searching for a candidate to fill a position as a University Assistant Post-Doc, expected to begin in March 2026 (40 hours per week, limited to expected 6 years).
Tasks
- Research and publication activities in the subject area
- Teaching and assisting with examinations at Bachelor and Master level in Financial and Actuarial Mathematics
- Supervision of students
- Participation in and organization of scientific events
- Participation in organizational and administrative tasks and in evaluation measures
- Commitment to contributing to the acquisition of external research funding
- Opportunity for habilitation is provided

Your profile
- Completed — or nearly completed — doctoral studies in Financial and Actuarial Mathematics, stochastic analysis, or a closely related field of mathematics
(you are welcome to apply with nearly completed doctoral studies, but the employment can only start after completion). - Familiarity with academic/scientific work
- Experience with presentations
- Advanced knowledge in the relevant subject area
- Teaching experience is advantageous
- Excellent command of English
- German language skills are advantageous
- Organizational and analytical skills and structured way of working
- Interest and enthusiasm for research and working with students
- Teamwork skills and problem-solving competence

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 4,932.90/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
