About the Role
As the Service Manager, Fire Services, you will manage the Curtin’s fire services contract, overseeing active and passive fire systems to ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, risk management protocols, and legislative standards. You will work closely with emergency management teams, project delivery managers, and contractors to maintain top-tier fire safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee the delivery of fire safety maintenance and compliance programs.
- Lead and manage contractors and staff, ensuring high performance and service delivery.
- Manage inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire safety systems.
- Oversee fire service isolations, investigate incidents, and improve emergency response strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, WorkSafe laws, and other relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including emergency services and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain and manage records in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- A degree in a relevant field or extensive experience in fire safety maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of fire service standards (e.g., AS 1851) and compliance requirements.
- Experience in contract management and working with emergency services and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in database applications and maintenance management software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and deliver high-quality customer service.
- Experience in a facilities management role within a tertiary education or similar environment.
- Experience in implementing innovative fire safety maintenance and service practices in technical service areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, and Buildings.
