About the Role

0.4 FTE in total: 0.2 FTE through FSFHG and 0.2 FTE through Curtin School of Population Health, Curtin University (at level ALB 5).

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Excellence: Drive and foster excellence in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology, research, collaborating with the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group and Curtin School of Population Health.
  • Education & Mentorship: Provide essential research education, supervise, and mentor staff involved in or aspiring to engage in research.
  • Promote Evidence-Based Practice: Champion research and evidence-based practices to ensure top-quality health outcomes for patients and their families.
  • Strategic Management: Lead the strategic management of translating research knowledge into practical applications.

Position Description: Provides leadership and fosters excellence in Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology research and articulates with research in the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group (FSFHG) Department of Clinical Psychology & Clinical Neuropsychology and the Curtin School of Population Health, Curtin University. Provides relevant research education, supervises and mentors staff engaged in, or seeking to engage in research. Promotes clinical-research opportunities to improve health outcomes for patients and their families and evidence informed standards of practice. Strategically manages the translation of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology research knowledge into relevant and contemporary practice. Practices as a Senior Clinical Psychologist and ensures practice is in accordance with laws and ethical standards of the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA), WA Health Code of Conduct and SMHS Values, policies, and guidelines and holds professional accountability to the Head of Department, Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology.

Role Requirements:

  • As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role. 
  • Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction.  
  • This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
